Winter Black Truffles (Tuber melanosporum Vitt.) in Australia
Winter Season is already started in Australia and Truffles are ready to be collected and to be eaten!
Tuber melanosporum starts to be quite popular in Australia. Every years more farmers start to grow this amazing species. The retail price is quite high if we compare with Europan prices. The price is around $ 1300-2000 per kg.

In WA there are some Companies that commercialised fresh truffles and truffles products.

The magic of bioluminescent mushrooms
Not many people know that there are a lot of species of mushrooms are bioluminescent.
This this phenomenon is due to the particular metabolism of some species which emit light waves instead of releasing heat.
This this phenomenon is due to the particular metabolism of some species which emit light waves instead of releasing heat.
Who had the possibility in his life to see this kind of mushrooms he will never forget during this life.
It's incredible how some species that during the day appear normal and maybe without attractive colour, when the sun go down they change completely and they show their real nature of special and wonderfull creature.
This year in Australia for the first time I had the possibility to see one specie of bioluminiscent mushrooms. I couldn't belive that it was real but it's a real.
Have a look of the list of this species in the web site:
Good luck!!!!
But remember to bring the mushrooms in the dark place and to wait some minuts before to be able to observe this phenomenon.
